My Ultra Bandit weighs 42.5 lbs with the large fuel system, a full UAT and a JetCat P-200. This weight includes the two seat cockpit with both pilot figures. I also have the single seat cockpit, wing tanks too but haven't weighed the airframe with these features installed installed.
It is not overweight at all. Pretty average indeed.
The UB Evo is advertised at 33 lbs.
42.5lbs.- 33lbs. = 9.5 lbs.
There can be as much as 11 lbs. difference between the Classic Ultra Bandit and the Evo, depending on your choice of equipment used in the Classic....Power Box, etc.....battery pack type and weight, etc.
The EVO has much lighter one piece fuselage than the Classic, which requires less power, the smaller engine reduces the overall weight.
thanks Harley! Have you flown both? It would seem the Evo may be more of a pleasure to fly with much better slow flight characteristics. But I do get that there may be a perfect weight where everything just synergises to perfection.
