OS Max PET II engine help
Hi,
Just going through my old engine collection and rebuilding and cleaning some engines.
I have a very old OS Max PET II that I would love some information on and even a copy of the user manual for it. Pretty sure its a PET II as it has the 4 head screws and the "Triangle" rear crankcase cover. The first version only had two head screws and the latter PET III version went to the now standard crankcase design with cylinder liner so had no cylinder base gasket..
If anyone knows anything specifically about the cylinder gasket (the thickness of it so I can make one) and the head gaskets it would be great.
Found some PET III gasket sets on EBay and I'm assuming I can use the same alloy head gasket in the PETII.
There must be a cylinder base gasket for this engine or there is no seal and the thickness is critical as it changes the port timing and the compression and I simply do not know the thickness it should be. I did make one once at 0.4mm but the engine never ran properly so it must be wrong.
Cheers,
Carl.
