Been a while since I visited this one. First, there's now a guy in the UK making PAK 40s with servo recoil and possibly sound, they look very well made and the price isn't too horrible. I think he wants to make them IR battlefield pieces. If anyone is interested I'll see if i can post a link.

Now, I finally got back to the resin printer, and these are test tires in regular plastic. After this test I changed over to black flexible resin and those are printing now. If I'm successful with this I should be printing high end tires in a variety of historically correct sizes and tread patterns. Almost all my files were designed by a couple of very talented cats in the UK and I've promised not to share the files, but you guys know me, if the designer is cool with it I usually print stuff for guys as close to "at cost" as I can get. Unfortunately, flexible resin is very, very expensive so the first thing I need to do is see how many tires I get from a kilo of resin, and then I can calculate material cost per part, but I still have no idea what it costs to run the printer. I'll see if I can figger it out like I did for the FDM printer, which I believe costs about 5 cents an hour to run. Anyway, I'm pretty tickled with the results so far. Print quality is light years ahead of filament printing, so I can see myself making a lot of little stuff like pioneer tools for all those trucks out there. I'll keep y'all posted.
