I don't care for the all ply fuse of the Goldberg kit. Late model kit design and production used a lot of ply to save money. Unfortunately, ply is pretty heavy. It also doesn't absorb vibration like balsa. Lastly, you just can't get as good of a finish on ply like you can balsa. The Hog bipe and Ace 4-* series of planes are good examples of heavy ply fuselages. It would be great if this was redesigned with balsa instead of all that ply.
Anyway, the Harry Higley book, "Bipes" has lots of construction improvements for the Goldberg Ultimate that make it more sturdy and easier to set up at the field. i highly recommend it.
