funny things at the field (for real!)
To lighten up things this year, here is a couple true storys from our club many years ago.
George and Sam were out at the flying field one Sunday when George came up to Sam and ask to borrow a new glow plug since he didn't have one with him.
Fine, Sam, being a good buddy, gives George a new glow plug, A few minutes later George is back asking for a prop since he had broken the one on his plane.
Fine again, Sam gives him a new prop. A little later George comes back and asks Sam if he can spare some fuel since he has used up his.
By this time Sam is a little perturbed at George and tells him "this stuff costs money". George's reply "If you can't afford the hobby then get out." leaving Sam speechless .
Another little tidbit from many years ago.
Our club was having a Public Appreciation Day at the field where we invited people to come out see what we do. I am spotting for Jimmie who is showing the people gathered how to fly pattern with his just built Kaos. While we are flying a gentleman comes up to us and asks Jimmie if he could fly the plane, Jimmie being a nice trusting individual hands him the box and watches in dismay as the Kaos flies away about 1/2 mile and goes straight in from a couple hundred feet. Both of us are dumbstruck when the man hands Jimmie back the transmitter with the comment "That's harder than it looks!"
