Solidworks also has a stripped down “educational” version included with an EAA membership. For $30/yr, its worth it just for solidworks.
when it comes to drawing the solid model, i highly recommend drawing it in 1:1 scaling as it helps show inconsistencies in the model more easily than one drawn at the preferred size.
