I'm now on my third set of gear
The struts have a weak spot. Where the base of the scissor attaches to the bottom of the strut is super weak. It's threaded on, but the threads are very fine and very shallow, so even hitting the brakes at speed will break that junction. Not sure whether to JB weld then on the new struts or drill, tap and bolt it.

As for the small pipe, mine is fine with a K85. People are putting the pipes too deep into the bell, so an adjustment of that would help. This thing knife-edges superbly, but don't use the supplied rudder mount.
