Default Homemade .10 Vee

Here are a few pictures of a 22" x 6-3/4" deep vee boat for a .10-.18 nitro engine. It was designed to handle pond chop and to surf on full size boat waves. It is relatively mild boat with a top speed of something like 18 mph. The skeg and deep rudder allow the boat to turn on a dime and it doesn't spin out at "high" speeds. It catches good air on the downwind chop and is definitely a lot of fun.

The hull is Wood Over Foam with bulkheads to separate the compartments and weighs 1-3/4 pounds. It has a flex surface drive and hardware made from K&S sheet brass and tubing and uses an Octura X442 prop. The rudder is set too far off center and I will move it closer to the prop.

The rudder in the separate pic is cool in that it uses the rudder post as a water pick-up.
