Sounds to me like I don't need anyone to motivate me other than the AMA itself
If you wait for the AMA to provide you with motivation, you have a long wait. In fact I’d go so far as to suggest you look into another hobby. The AMA is a dead horse. Not dying but dead. It's just not smart enough to lie down. They have nothing to offer 4/5 of the million plus FAA sUAS registrants. Just as their Yay-Sayers here have nothing to offer in the way of proof and supporting data. And remember, the AMA went after the drones thinking to inflate their lagging membership/revenue. And blew it! And in the meantime they abandoned their base, the traditional fixed/rotary winged RC modelers/flyers.

So someone in the organization says something? So what? Big deal! As the old lady on TV use to say, “Where’s the Beef?” We hear nothing but rumors and propaganda coming out of Muncie with nothing to substantiate it. And the Yay-Sayers in their best kindergarten character do nothing but simply parrot Muncie believing that if Muncie said it, it must be so. No further proof required. Fools!

So if you want to fly RC, print out a copy of the FAA rules and make sure you understand them. Then find a suitable spot and go fly. The Yay-Sayers will try to make you out as some sort of criminal (isn't that what was said in that issue of "The Hill"?). But hey, you'll be enjoying the hobby.

Like I've said, I've lurked here for several years.
