Did you get the assembly manual from Chris?
Only for getting an idea: if the stainless steel sheets are too less flexible you may use spring wire instead.
I´ve tried that at another project:

I've got the kit now and I'd steadily building away! I like the quality and how well thought out the assembly is, this is a fun build. I'm using the styrene from the kit itself as suspension springs for now; a bit still but it'll work!

My only hiccup so far is the turret drive gear. None comes with this kit so I thought to use a Heng Long turret drive motor sprocket to drive the kit's turret ring. Nope, it's too large in diameter, and doesn't reach the gearbox shaft anyway (I'm using the same motor type as in your video)

...so where can I get a gear that will work here?
