That's fantastic that he's taking all the feedback on board! Like you said now is the time to make any changes when it's still a prototype and before they start cutting the moulds.
Back in the 80's when the old 1/35th Tamiya Mk3 kit was the only game in town the were regular articles on the modeling mags showing how to convert if to different marks. From memory I have Australian Mk5/1, British Mk12 and Israeli Sho't (1973 config) articles in my stash. If I can find them I will scan and share them.
