Well, the maiden was done on N109JM on Saturday. I've been flying 31 years and have maidened 100's of aircraft both as a hobbyist and professional pilot. I can honestly say, I have never been more nervous. Hindsight, there was no reason. The plane flew beautifully. I have it currently balanced at 260mm (center of the wing tube) and I feel it's still a little nose-heavy but very comfortable. I have a few clicks of up elevator (also leads me to nose heavy) but that's all the trim she needed, at least for flight 1. I actually registered N109JM as the tail number for this jet with the FAA which is pretty cool. It's my wife's birthday and her initials.
Setup:
Futaba 32MZ w/ dual 7108 RX
Savox 1270 TG Servos throughout
Powerbox Mercury with iGyro and GPS
KingTech 140G2
Electric Gear
LG15 Gear controller
Weight: 30 lbs. on the nose
I'd like to say thank you to Dirk at Pacific R/C Jets, Archie Stafford for guiding me through the process, and Dick Mundee whose help with the fuel system and plumbing saved me serious headaches.
