7 yards quickfire is good enough. If I remember Chic Gaylord's comment correctly most handgun firefights usually occur at lest than 4 yards. He was the father of practical firearms training and the go to guy on the east coast for custom holsters back in the day. I still have a copy of his book alas the dust jacket is long gone.
