I have a Joysway sea drifter and having issues with it, when its out of the water it runs fine place in water and it starts and quickly stops, tried everything I can think of. like a quick burst and stops

When I got it the owner said it was working fine as he had a video of it working the day he boxed it up to send to me. it has a plane esc on it and I'm using a hand receiver and transmitter off another boat which works fine on that boat.

Any help would be much apricated as getting to the stage were I might sent it back, but don't want to as a great boat and won't to keep it.
