Visalia Municipal does not have a tower but a Unicom based FBO. Fresno (FAT) is tower controlled and it's radar coverage extends to Visalia. The CVRC Soaring Site is not in VMA's traffic pattern but is in line with Fresno about 40 miles to the North. Commercial traffic passing over CVRC is generally above 4000ft AGL so a 2000ft ceiling for soaring is workable.

CVRC has a stellar 30 year plus record of soaring events (monthly and annually) in full coordination with Visalia and Fresno. They have an enviable flying site with winches, large grass areas, a fabric runway for electric power planes, permanent cover structure with bench/table and electrical power. Locked storage and portable outhouses. The site is basically a peninsula on a flood control basin so in the right conditions two huge ponds are available.

Glad to see them getting the exemption as the club and site are one of the best in California and visited often by flyers from around the USA as well as International.
