The tool doesn't have to be fabricated precisely, 30 degrees of crank rotation is a "mile" and very visible if off by a tooth.
For me, this is just another case of "run watcha brung". Nothing wrong at all with making pretty shiny overkill tools if that's what floats yer boat.
