There's lots of bad info here so far.

When you're looking at micro-receivers, don't get fixated on single or dual conversion. Look for what the manufacturer has to say about intended applications and range. Great Planes states 900ft for their micros, Hitec states 1000ft for their Feather, and FMA states theirs are full range. This is what is important. SC or DC is not indicative of range.
