I wouldn’t say secrecy. Like the soaring club I referenced. I received an email from my soaring club president here in Oregon forwarding an email from the CVRC club letting us know that until further notice CVRC was suspending all events until their altitude request had been processed. The email made mention of 2,000’ altitude limit. The email was sent out as a courtesy by the CVRC president to clubs that had people attending events at CVRC. Now that they have events posted on the calendar for 2022, it would appear the higher altitude was approved. Not really secrecy but more along the lines of need to know. Astro states that the clubs that were granted higher altitudes should publicize this information. Through what means? Should AMA send out an email to every member every time a club is granted a higher altitude? Does that seem reasonable? Suppose that happens, how many here in this forum aren’t members? IMO each club that is granted a higher altitude only has a responsibility to notify their members and those who come to their club for events.
