You move the wheels, not the CG to get the proper taildragger configuration. No matter where the CG is, if you place the main axles far enough ahead of it, things will work out well. That's what I did on my TigerII - moved the main gear axles to a position directly under the wing LE. Anyhoo, you're probably past that point by now.
