I have a large hill by me with about foot long grass and a huge natural jump infront of it so it does FLY through the grass, I also have a large front bumper so unlucky if you tmaxx cant make it through 5 inches
Jumping at high speed, then landing in the tall grass and driving out of it is quite different from just plowing into tall grass and trying to race around in it. Most any R/C vehicle is going to have trouble with tall grass.
