I remember my father's foster sister and her husband were renting a house with a basement in Ponca City. One day an underground spring came up in the basement flooding it. The water was coming in as fast as they could pump it out. The city condemned the property and the house was torn down and the hole filled in. I don't think anything was ever rebuilt on the lot. I'm sure the landlord wasn't happy but there was nothing he could do.
