Thanks for the reply and please forgive my ignorance.

So..what I understand is that a 1400 mAh NiCD AA cell has the same capacity as a 1400mAh NiMH AA cell, but the NiCD can deliver maximum current quicker??

What would the side-effect be of using alkalines or NiMHs??? Just slower response time? Less run time??
