But the big difference is that the AMA lobbies government.
Both NAR and Tripoli ( rocketry organizations ) work with goverment and the FAA with great success. Both are smaller in membership but manage to get things done. Neither has the bureaucracy the AMA does. Both also manage to involve to youth of America. I won't even mention the help they give to their sections.
