We all need to keep in mind that the hobby has forever changed. From 1982-1989 I worked for and eventually managed the R/C side of a very large hobby shop in the SF Bay Area. I would place a Sig order about every 8 to 10 weeks that would include kits including R/C, CL and FF. Of course we had a complete wood rack that needed replenishment, hardware rack, dope and other chemicals, foam, covering, fiberglass etc. that order every 8 weeks would usually total 20K to 30K. We also had two competing hobby shops within 30 miles that also carried Sig products. Now that the hobby has gravitated towards mail order so the we the consumers can save a few dollars here and there the hobby shops that kept suppliers like Sig in business are gone. We unfortunately have done this to ourselves, mail order to save money, buying ARFs to save time etc has led to the extinction of dozens of hobby suppliers.
