Both are a good choice, programming menus are identical. The 16IZ does allow direct heli gyro programming from the transmitter. 18SZ has a little heftier feel as it is slightly larger physically. Budget wise the 16 saves you a fair amount of money.
I have the 18MZWC for my airplanes, 16IZ for my helis. Like them both.
