I happen to agree on all points. Because for AMA it's "ALL about the Benjamins!"
They saw (and continue to see) FPV as a source of $$$ in terms of memberships. They're taking a Sgt Shultz "
I see NOTHING" approach to actual FPV by their members, because they don't want to lose the $$$. Matter of fact, they're taking the same "
I see NOTHING" approach to turbine ops as well. That SIG has been hauled in front of the EC at least twice in the last couple years for lack of flight discipline, and yet the EC does nothing. The head of the SIG said it all when a concern is "...driving away members" (note 1).
Note 1: That's a direct quote from EC minutes of 16 July 2016 meeting. These minutes were posted on public facing website and available to the public at large; thus not confidential or proprietary. Sometime over the last couple years, AMA stopped doing that and require a password to access minutes. I guess public transparency is scary!
