Modeltech Cap 21
Hi Everyone,
Selling a Modeltech Cap 21 that I purchased a few months back. Looks like I was the fourth owner, but technically only the second person to fly the model as the second and third owner did not fly the model.
If you're interested, feel free to shoot an offer or if you want things separated out. I would be willing to separate the airframe as it is (with servos) and remove the engine if it isn't needed.
Airplane is quite unique. From what I gathered, it was originally built by the original owner in Germany who then moved to the US. With that being said, it has Graupner/JR servos, a Robbe switch, Robbe wheels/accessories, and a Toni Clark Zenoah G23/header/canister.
Workmanship is fantastic, very clean with great attention to detail (i.e. wing servos are side-mounted and hidden, covers exist where the pushrods exit, G10 firewall created that is removeable for the canister/header, etc.). Ducting added to keep the canister and any heat away from the radio gear, just a clean build overall.
I did replace all fuel plumbing, the fuel tank, and created a tray for the fuel tank to be secured to. I have flown the model a few times, flies just like a pattern model and is very maneuverable in pitch. Model will perform great flat spins, tumbles, etc. Great for the old-school giant-scale flying fix!
I did notice that engine transition wasn't perfect during that outing to the field, I did touch the needles after but suspect it requires a carb rebuild kit given that it has been many years since it was last flown. With that said, I purchased one from B&B Specialties and that will be included in the sale. If I get the itch to fly the model in the near future before it sells, I will replace.
Just add your receiver. I will include a LiFE battery and voltage regulator as the servos in the aircraft are rated for 4.8V only (I have a Fromeco regulator that is included).
E-mail with any questions or should you want to see additional images (

Prefer local pickup only at this time (greater Boston area).
Best,
John
