i'm kinda new too, but most of these things work with battery eliminator circuitry. Your speed controller will have to have this on it so you can use the same battery for your receiver as well as your motor. The speed controller should have 2 separate wires that go to the power on your receiver and to your ch3 for the throttle i am assuming.
