Hat Trick sold two types of ribbons, 1" wide, one was a crepe material, BTW if you freeze party crepe paper rolls you can easily cut it on a band saw to width upon removal from freezer and placed in a make shift jig to cut.

The second material was 1" as well for damp days and it was sold as forestry ribbon to mark areas of that would be environmentally friendly if left to die, This is tougher to cut but held up when things got damp and wet.

The gooo applied to leading edges was needed with the forestry tape and the goo was called tanglefoot for pesky perching birds in outdoor venues. I still use it on my rv chord and tires, at Joe Nall to keep red ants at bay
