When you decide to stop working for a living, and pick a retirement location, you can also use the local flying club as part of your criteria for selection. But no matter how nice the fields may be, if the people are a bunch of --- it is still no good. Buit the people here are a very nice bunch, we'd welcome any of you to move down.

But do not come here expecting to find a job with decent pay, there aren't many of them. If you are civil service or military and manage a transfer here you're fine. Or if your company transfers you to this area you're fine. If you already have a job lined up you're fine. But don't come down expecting to find a job. Many jobs available, butthe job that pays $80K in the Baltimore - Washington area pays $20K here. Be warned.

Living expenses are low here, but hard goods, like your new car, have the same prices natinwide.
