Too bad you can't post a picture or two yet(not until you get 10 or more posts due to issues from a while back) so we could see how things look. If the hardware is damaged, you might be able to replace it with quality stuff from Speedmaster or a couple other manufacturers.

If one would work for you, order it directly from Futaba, along with servos. If it works better, like the one your wife uses, you're good to go.
