Those elevator horns are another nice touch....The wooden pins (tooth picks) will certainly add some needed shear strength..
I also made the trip over to Central Hobbies to check out those push rod components.. Nice set up..

While doing that I saw the shipping companies have found another way to get in our pockets a little more. Maybe the length surcharge has been around a while but I never noticed it before.
