This is what I came up with to hold the LG cover in place. Two 4-40 blind nuts are epoxied to a basswood stretcher.
The two outermost countersunk holes will become evident on a later post. They do have an intended purpose...



Holes (two inner) were drilled to allow the 4-40 bots to pass through. The cap head screws are accessed from the inside of the fuselage easily. Doing it this way keeps the outside LG cover free from any holes for a clean look.



I think it looks pretty good.
