Yes it is small , that`s why I was going to enlarge mine to 80 inches or 203cm. Yes for the Lasers you would have to build the fire wall further back . Also since you are building the cowls , you probably could extend them as much as you need for a nice fit with the engines. Are you installing retracts ?
