I have a vintage speedboat I picked up, I like vintage RC stuff I have two vintage sailboats. I am trying to identify who made the boat, only name markings are "Rustler" on the side of the boat its 30" x *8" mono hull. all equipment is working

Looking for ideas on fixing the hole thru the hull, I was going to use heat gun to warm up and reshape the opening and then use epoxy and structure cloth over hole from inside. I looking just to run the boat not race it.
Since I am new I cant post any photos, PIA but I understand the reasoning
