I liked it so much that when I started flying high power rockets in the early 1990's I used it to build a 1/4 scale version over 6 feet tall that I flew mostly on J and K motors but did one flight on a L, getting over 8000 feet of altitude. Send me a message if you want to work out a deal on the HJ. I have quite a few Estes kits, mostly scale models used during the US space program. I have both the Little Joe and Little Joe II, Mercury-Redstone, Saturn 1B and Saturn V models. Don't know if I'll ever get around to building them or not.


This is a launch using a J-460 Aerotec motor. It probably went 1500 feet or so, best I can remember. These are scanned prints, made in the 1990's. The small rocket in my left hand is a Black Brant sounding rocket, it used G and H motors. All of my high power rockets were scratch built.
