Use NiMH. They have much higher capacities than they used to. They only issue I have found with them is the voltage remains pretty constant during use until they drop off quickly. For a ground vehicle that isn't a problem but for a boat are plane you have to time their use and check the voltage regularly. I use radio systems that report back the receiver voltage.
