Mode 2 is much better as it is the natural way of controlling ailerons and elevator ,it is like in a full scale airplane!
I cannot understand why people try to put the two most important controlling inputs on two different sticks!??
Been into this hobby /sport since 1975, flying all kinds of airplanes and competing in international pylon racing as well as in scale and sailplanes, and contructed several R/C planes...no more bragging!
