I recently got an Ultimate 120 ARF new in box to me, from a friend of mine, have no idea how old the ARF is or who the manufacture was, there were no labels on the box and nothing on the manual indicating who this planes came from. I have built many ARF's and scratch-built planes over the years, thank god for the past experience because following the manual was a challenge in itself. The build is complete and when I placed it on my balancer, I could not believe how tail heavy it was. In order to get the CG correct (per the manual) I would need to add 16oz's to the front of the cowling or add 28oz's just behind the engine mount. I have never had to add this much weight to any plane to get it to balance per the CG recommendations.
Equipment Installed:
Standard Spektrum Servo's, 4 in the fuselage and 1 in each lower wing.
2 - 6.6v 2200mah batteries mounted as far forward as possible.
DLE20 engine. It calls for a 120(4c). Thinking that the 120 may be heaver that the DLE20 is what's causing it to be tail heavy. The DLE20 is heavier than the 120, so that is not an issue.
So, I'm looking for someone that may have built this model in the past or anyone that can give me some advice with the CG issue.
