Yep...

Quickees are just very nice sport planes. They are cheap, can be had in kit form or as an ARF, either way they go together easily, they fly very smooth, they can go fast AND slow, they generally have wheels (unless your landings still need practising ), they will perform well on a sport engine and they will be pretty fast on a racing engine... faster than most people can handle for a first speed plane anyway, ...

So to keep a long story short: you can't go wrong with a quickee for a first speed experience. And you know why this is? Because quickees were conceived as a beginners racing class in the first place... makes sense doesn't it...
