While Futaba T7C is a pretty easy radio to program (easier I think than my Aurora 9), first do you have 2 Hitec receivers for both planes already?
If so, then stick to what you know, Hitec. You can get pretty good money still for a 7C on eBay, with two matching receivers.
But if you have to locate and buy at a premium price tag for used Hitec 2.4 Ghz receivers, I'd try using what came in the 2 planes and become familiar with the basic and advanced menu's on the 7C.
