I am 34 years old and I work as a KC-135E Crew Chief in Bangor, Me. I have wanted to get into the hobby for as long as I can remember but I kept putting it off until September of this year. I decided there was no time like the present and I bought an Alpha. I had my first flights the first weekend in Sept.
With a great instructor and NO buddy box, I was doing my own take-offs on the 5th flight. I soloed two weeks later on my 12th! Since then I have about 35 flights under my belt. It helps that I work evenings so I can fly during the day before work and not have to wait much to get stick time.

I am getting ready to put skis on for the winter so I can continue to improve. In addition to that, I have been pestering my wife like crazy for a Venture60 kit for X-Mas. I had never heard of the V60 until I joined this site but now I really want one. Hopefully Santa will be nice and I'll have a winter project!!
