Todd, one thing you can do is set up a mix where the knobs are the master and the elevator is slave. Set up one mix with VRA as master and elevator as slave with switch C in the center position, and VRB as master with elevator as slave with switch C in the down position. This way you can adjust the amount of mixing in flight. You can also use an offset mix for the elevator.
