Default RE: Scratch building an Edge540

I built the GP Cap w/MDS 48 at 4.95 lbs. The question is how disiplined are you about saving weight?

The MDS 68 is very powerful if you use the stock muffler.

If you use nothing but 6-8lb contest balsa, use your scale, the lightest balsa square and tri stock, (w/uni carbon on spars), 4 Hitec 225's, a HS 81 for throttle, foam wheels, 1/8" lite ply for firewall and landing gear plate only, (with lightening holes) only use epoxy for ply pieces, lithium batteries, and a simple covering scheme.

You should be able to build a 67" at around 6.5 to 7lbs and be completely unlimited.

Now that would be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would buy one!!!!!!!
