Might as well throw my name into the hat. I'm Phil from Winnipeg Canada. I'm 40-something and just getting started in RC although I have been building things (balsa plane kits, scratchbuilt boats, ships in bottles, furniture, house walls) ever since I was a kid. I have dreamed of RC flying since I was a kid too, and a month or so ago I suddenly woke up and realized - "hey, I'm a grown-up now. I have an income, a family, and a roof over my head. If I want to have an RC plane, I can just go ahead and do it!"

Don't have a plane yet, but I will be buying a SIG Kadet LT-40 kit in the next month or so. I have a brand-new in box Royal 0.46 to go in it, and I'm going to use a Futaba 6EXA system to talk to it.

I've met some really nice people at a local club and I will be taking lessons in the spring to learn how to fly my baby. Then I am going to start building scale planes.
