RE: tower hobbies tower voyager ARF.. looking for input
I did a review on this plane when I bought it, but it's gone. Anyway, I thought it was pretty cheap quality. However, It flew great AFTER I mounted the engine right side up. Very easy flyer and landings I was able to teach myself to land WELL with it. Mine has been through hell too. I busted the firewall when I nosed it in. I cartwheeled it on the street and only had to tape up a wing tip. I flew it through a barbed wire fence and took the vert stab off. Very quick fixes. It does have that crappy pvc covering so you can expect to recover it before long. I even have pieces of zip ties for hinges in the rudder! Oh! And the main wing mount block almost broke off in the air. Right now I use the plane to train my girlfriend. I think it's a great trainer. Handles better for a beginner than my Avistar and my TT Trainer 40. Despite all the hell I've put it through, it is still one of my favorite planes (next to my Stinger 40). Since you are looking for a second, I would go with the Tiger 2. Better quality all around. I have the Tiger 60 and LOVE THAT PLANE!!! It comes covered with Ultracote I think. A definate plus.
