Says right on the instruction label and in the handout, not to be used in combination with any two part epoxy based fibreglass process. Hastings Plastics has on their poop sheets how to properly use gel coat, as does the booklet I got from West-Systems. I never got gel coat to stick and harden to anything other than polyester resins. Maybe your friends are luckier than I have been.
