same thing happened to the first one I built , and I have built more planes than I can remember. IMHO
the problem is due to the size of the air balance on the elevators and how it sits on the ground
its possible while holding full up while taxing that the air balances catch the ground/grass and this is what weakens
them. and then while under load in the air -they snap off
the second one I built I added some triangle pieces to the balance structure and was very careful while taxing
and It has not done this again . the airframe has well over 200 flights on it all being of the hardcore 3d variety.
