Default RE: Best trainer, not your favorite, but best to learn on?

In my quest to learn to fly and to qualify as solo with the local club, I have gone through several aircraft. In (mostly) chronological order:

Superstar 60 (RIP, trees)
GWS Tiger Moth
Sturdy Birdy (decommisioned, fixable)
Ripmax Zephyr (glow powered)
Hobbistar 60 MkIII (RIP, on takeoff 2nd flight)
LT-40.

From the above list I have two recommendations:

1. Ripmax Zephyr: There's still something to be said about learning on a 3 channel before progressing to a 'full house' airplane. This one is very sensitive on the rudder though, and really needs to be hand launched as take offs are tricky. There's not a lot to beat it for leasurely flying on a calm day.

2. LT-40 (ARF). By far the best 'proper' trainer of the bunch. Exactly the same size as the 60 sized trainers but a lot easier to fly. I think that by the time I got to the LT-40 I already had a lot of flight experience and just needed to 'right' airplane after the demise of my Superstar. I soloed on this plane on its 4th flight.
