I made my own spring latches for the engine hatch. One fwd, one aft on the centerline, with the fwd bulkhead of the engine hatch extending into the fuse about a 1/2".
The canopy has a small tab on the front which is held down with a 6-32 screw, fastened after engine start. (see previous post photo). The aft part of the canopy captures the fwd 2" of the fuel tank. The base is a sheet of 3/32 balsa.
There are better ways out there now but this has worked for me for a while.
